The heart of the land of secular olive groves and the blue Adriatic-sea preserves a treasure, the marvellous Castellana grottoes. Castellana is called 'Castellana Grotte' from 1950 in tribute to a marvellous underground world discovered by Prof. Franco Anelli in 1938.
An alabaster chest which had been well-kept in the dark, is ready to reveal itself: a marvel which you won't be able to forget. It unwraps through an enthralling scenario, starting from the "Grave" (the cave which communicates with the outside surroundings through the fantastic natural skylight) and running for 1.5 kilometers, veering from suggestive caves and corridors to the stunning White Cave, as claimed by many, one of the most beautiful caves in the world .
